R2MP started to listen to club music since 1999, and he is still a big fan of dance music scene and dancing. R2MP just started to learn to make songs, but realized music making is tougher than he expected. He often adds experimental and improvisational raw sounds (not-polished-much). His dream is to become a creative Musician who travels to international cities and plays DJ sets. R2MP stands for RawRaw Music Project, which is an extension of RawRaw projects started in 2007, as an attempt to keep the raw innocence of practicing Art. Despite majoring in sculpture, R2MP experiments with the various types of Art and Life projects. He considers one life is one work, and hopes to live a creative and happy artist-life work. Currently, he runs the RawRaw studio store in Seoul and the RawRaw studio online space on Facebook. Hope you enjoy R2MP's mixset.

Route81

A new electronica band 'Route 81' release digital single A new electronica band 'Route 81' is having the showcase on March 31 at Ritz-Carlton Hotel to present their digital single 'Running' and 'Great Day'. Route 81 includes a unique combination of two keyboardists and one DJ. It is a unique sound band that plays authentic electronic sound combined with additional Jazz emotion. This new digital single is their debut album. Route 81's leader Changwoong Lee is a talented Jazz Pianist who learned from Nokyung Lee, Mijung Im and Korea's best known session man Joonyoung Ahn. He played the keyboard for SBS-TV's Kim, Yoonah's Musicwave house band as well as at the Jazz Club Evans and Watercock. He also played in live session for many artists and participated in a rock band like Peter Pan Complex and Why Not. His musical history is indeed extraordinary. Just like this, his all-genre propensity met with the electronica and it gives new feeling to the music. All melodies except the beats in Route 81's music are his work and the lyricism that flows through entire music shows his susceptibility. In fact, it is exceedingly curious how Route 81's sound will be expressed with an experimental member configuration (two keyboardists and one DJ). The first track, "Running" expresses the concerns and hope of the 20's, the life's most splendid years. Lounge-style piano solo in the beginning harmonizes with the house rhythm that supports the entire music and in continues with the exciting rhythm. Just past the middle part, synth sound that revolves in your ears appear which creates exciting atmosphere. The vocal part that suddenly appears after the middle part shows the sensibility this band possesses just like it was expressed in piano solo at the beginning. After this short but enough to tell their sensibility vocal part ends, electronic sound makes people who listen to the music to be excited again. As you go towards the end, a new synth-sound will bring more excitement to the atmosphere and it finishes the music with a hopeful feeling, just like its title "Running" The second track, "Great Day" expresses anyone's life who challenges with their own big and small matters today. This song, which worked with a female vocalist, is attractive because the sound of the vocal harmonizes with other parts. This music was inspired by perhaps obsolescence yet the most attractive material, love. The sorrow that comes from lost love was not expressed conventionally but it was rather paradoxically expressed in a way you are living the same great life. If "Running" had strong exciting sound, this track gives more bright sound that produces casual atmosphere. Producing was done by 'DJ Aya,' who played with a German electronic dance music producer Paul Van Dyke, Deadmou5, and DubFire. And this tells that Route 81 is a remarkable band. It will be a great opportunity to confirm DJ Aya's producing ability. Meanwhile, DJ Aya plans to be a full-fledged producer. The third member, Seungwoo Lee worked with the leader, Changwoong Lee since high school. He possesses great keyboard skill and a charming voice. The sound making in this band is all his work and his role in Route81 expect to bring diverse musical directions.

Lewis Anthony

Lewis Anthony started making waves back in 2004 when the Tunechasers-Lewis's weekly radio show-aired on Frequency: a popular student radio station based out of the University of Central Lancashire in Preston. The Tunechasers set out to fulfill a simple objective: showcase the best and most forward-thinking productions in the ever-evolving global electronic music scene. Along with this aim came the opportunity to host some of the top local and worldwide talent in the industry. After a successful four-year reign, in which the Tunechasers gained popular acclaim, as well as nominations for various local industry and university awards, Lewis decided to call time on the airwaves and pursue production along with a growing talent behind the ones and twos. Lewis's sound inevitably evolved with the scene itself: portraying early deep house from Chicago, the infant sounds of techno from Detroit, as well as domestically-based production outfits and newly-emerging minimal recordings. This gave way to the contemporary electronic sounds of Lewis Anthony today. Initially favoring tradition through supporting the most basic of DJ set ups, he also remained open minded about the technological changes that were occurring in the digital age and gaining ever more popularity on the global DJ circuit. From vinyl turntables and CDJ's, right through to laptops and digital samplers, the sound and preferences morphed with the scene. Lewis Anthony aims to take electronic music aficionados on a sense-assaulting journey of long and textbook musical transitions through driving twists and turns-with a few ups and downs along the way. Lewis's passion for music and exploration has taken him all over the world: from Europe, to America, to Asia. Today, he resides in Seoul, Korea.

The Opensky

The Opensky, known in person as Joe Byun, is a 16 year old who was born on a cold night in Moscow, Russia. Since then he has journeyed across europe for 14 years before coming back to his homeland of South Korea. He discovered his love for electronic music when he was 5 years old when he was listening to Aphex Twin albums that were lying around the house. He became attached to the likes of Depeche Mode, The Chemical Brothers, and Royksopp before embarking on another journey through the world of trance music. At the age of 12, he took up basic audio editing (Audacity) for a small homework video and discovered that he could do basic editing of any audio file. He opened his life to music production when he played around with Sony Acid Express. He played around not knowing what he was doing, until he entered a Royksopp remix competition. It was then when he discovered how to use MIDI programming and use loops properly. He began truly creating his own productions from then on. Moving from electronic, to trance, to downtempo, and finally arriving at progressive house, he has slowly been blending styles and creating his own sound, one that tries to take the most pleasing sounds from every genre and blend them into one crazy cocktail with a touch of his own special spices. Music production has become a hobby for him and he never expected to win 3 different remix competitions, or even be featured elsewhere on the web. Despite having limited time and resources, he still tries to fit in time to produce music whenever he can, and wishes to continue producing music for the world to enjoy.

ABOUT FRISKY LOVES SOUTH KOREA

The Concept: Pick a region, usually a country, and showcase its electronic dance music to the world. The hand-picked DJs from the friskyRadio robots are sure to paint a unique picture of whats hot in that part of the world.

The Show: friskyRadio Loves...

The History: It all began with Argentina. Back in 2005, we had an idea: Why not do a show solely on Argentina, where some of the most passionate friskyRadio DJs and fans come from. Indeed, the first friskyRadio Loves Argentina wasnt even called "friskyRadio Loves Argentina," for even we didnt know what a unique concept and show we were pioneering. At the time, there was simply nothing like it anywhere: not on Internet Radio, not in FM radio. Like so many things on friskyRadio - we were the first to bring the 'Country/Region' showcase concept to the world. Since then have visited well over 30 countries or regions, from Russia to Finland, from Holland to DENVER and everything in between.
