Jaytech

In a world awash with carbon copy producers, 27-year-old James Cayzer aka Jaytech is a bright exception. Classically trained as a pianist and a perfectionist when it comes to programming, his unique blends of deep melodies and sunny electronic grooves are equally at home in the DJ sets of Sasha or Desyn Masiello as they are in the stadium headlining appearances of Above & Beyond. Despite his relative youth, Jaytechfs prodigious creativity and prolific work rate (he started producing at just 14 and released his first track at 16) have seen him rise up as the most consistent artist on the popular Anjunadeep imprint ? even releasing the labelfs first full artist album through 2008fs eEverything Is Okf ("Lush, melodic and soaked in electronic groove - a crossover gem" **** -DJ Magazine), and hitting number one twice in the iTunes dance chart, both with his Anjunadeep 02 mix compilation in 2010, ("Compilation of the month **** -Mixmag) and again in 2011 with Anjunadeep 03. Cementing his position as one of the leading lights within deep, uplifting electronic music, Jaytechfs monthly mix show eJaytech Musicf now airs on radio stations across the globe and is downloaded by thousands as a monthly podcast. A window into his sound, itfs also the best place to hear Jaytechfs upcoming personal productions before anyone else. Proof of his rising stock behind the turntables, a packed DJ diary has recently taken in dates at Ibizafs Amnesia, London's Brixton Academy and Japanfs world-famous Womb. In the past year he has also traveled the vast corners of his Australian homeland with the Future Music Festival and taken his uplifting and perfectly paced sound on tour in America ? more recently with Above & Beyond for their TATW350 event in Los Angeles, where his set was broadcast live across the globe to a listen-in audience of 30 million. Often uplifting but never obvious, Jaytech is a force on an unstoppable rise right now. And his journey is only just beginning.

ANRI

Born in Yokohama, Anri’s childhood was surrounded with the booming hiphop scene that resides within her home town. It was only until a trip to Tokyo with a friend, whilst underage, did Anri hear her first taste of electronic underground music. After that one night she has never looked back. Being heavily inspired by local dj’s “Dj SoEand “Shinya OkamotoE Anri moved out of Yokohama several years later, to the Techno capital of JapanE.Tokyo.

Securing her first gig in 2003 at club Cube326, it wasn’t long before her super upfront music and superbly tight skills were in demand around the country. She quickly found her sonic niche, concise incorporation of a broad spectrum of electronic genres, from Deep House to Techno. For the past 7 years, Anri’s flexibility and clever ear has given her the opportunity to support an eclectic mix of international icons, from Underground Resistance, to Satoshi Tomiie to Radioslave, to Chymera, to Motor City Soul even through to the likes of David Morales and Model 500.

From success to success, Anri’s artist profile outgrew her home country, being offered performances around the globe, from Madrid to Australia, playing at a wide variety of world-renowned environments, from Mt Fuji, to Nagisa (Osaka), to the Australian outback for Rainbow Serpent2011 (Melbourne) & Winter Solstice (Cairns).

Anri even was approached as a regular guest dj for Chameleon Radio on Australia’s Kiss Fm and who could forget her residencies CUBIC LOOP @ageHa, Air and We Are International(Melbourne). Anri has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and by the looks of her upcoming bookings, she wont be putting the brakes on any time soon.

J-Slyde

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and the earth was null and without form. God then created Dinosaurs, Mormon's, Promoters and DJ's. Knowing that these characters on his creation would become "A dime a dozen" commodity, he created a chosen few to defy the norm, stand up in the seated crowd, be the cougar in jungle of strays. And it goes without saying that Jordan Blick or as we simply know him as "J-Slyde", is clearly poising himself as a premier DJ/Promoter that stands apart in the Australian dance music scene. When you read the already tried and tested ramble of a DJ's "passion for music" or how "Music is their life" it takes away from people like J-Slyde, who well and truly represent all that is his tastes, styles and skills when he steps up to the turntables. Having embraced the ever growing electronic new wave that swept through the 1990Œs, J-Slyde's precursor for where his sound now lies is solely in the past. An eclectic ear, and an appreciation for the anti establishment, has seen J-Slyde's style awash with Hip-Hop, Drum and Bass, Breaks on top of a furiously sultry love affair with Trance, Progressive House, Techno and his occasional hussy in the night, Electro. But what good is musical affection if you have no skills to a tune with? Luckily for J-Slyde behind every good affection lies an even stronger amount of motivation. Having birthed a successful reputation from early gigs, J-Slyde's skills grace and flare develops each time he plays. Having destroyed the Ghetto Fusion House supremacy comp in early 2005, it has been a very steady rise to the well molded turntablist we see performing now. Whether it be club and bar gigs in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, playing underneath the starry skies for Earthcore or bathing in the Sunshine states Involved Parties. J-Slyde's reputation and presence on the EDM precedes him with every gig he plays and with every event he organizes. Through marrying with Taran M and Rich OK to create and co run the nationally respected brand "Substance", J-Slyde's skills and career have exploded tenfold. To watch J-Slyde perform is to be taken on a journey, whether it's the Substance rooftop party or the main-stage of Brown alley. The effortlessly constructed voyage will see his set's littered with every turnip of musical escapism. I don't think anyone will forget how a well built progressive house set was sent to boiling point by "Treaty" by Yothu Yindi. Very much "In- demand" J-Slyde has had the pleasure of being a regular guest at parties such as White Noise, Bad Party Records, LockNLoad and Involved on the Gold Coast - to name but a few. If reward for hard labour gets thrown back at you, J-Slyde would be ducking for cover from the incoming missiles of appreciation. Having just hosted Substance's first international, Shiloh from Canada, J-Slyde is now collecting a barrage of monumental supports from the likes of Nick Warren, Hybrid and Hernan Cattaneo, to name a few. Now at the helm of the Substance ship with Simon Murphy and running the sub brand "Prognosis", J-Slyde's musical dexterity is going to be flown into sensory overload. To rate J- Slyde as one of the up an comers of the scene is a waste of breath; he is already there. And if the past is anything to go by, he isn't going to finish rising until the roof is blown.

ABOUT FRISKY LOVES AUSTRALIA

The Concept: Pick a region, usually a country, and showcase its electronic dance music to the world. The hand-picked DJs from the friskyRadio robots are sure to paint a unique picture of whats hot in that part of the world.

The Show: friskyRadio Loves...

The History: It all began with Argentina. Back in 2005, we had an idea: Why not do a show solely on Argentina, where some of the most passionate friskyRadio DJs and fans come from. Indeed, the first friskyRadio Loves Argentina wasnt even called "friskyRadio Loves Argentina," for even we didnt know what a unique concept and show we were pioneering. At the time, there was simply nothing like it anywhere: not on Internet Radio, not in FM radio. Like so many things on friskyRadio - we were the first to bring the 'Country/Region' showcase concept to the world. Since then have visited well over 30 countries or regions, from Russia to Finland, from Holland to DENVER and everything in between.
