Forged from an unholy alliance of two rabid house music fans, the Sugar Ant Invasion has landed on the house music scene with a unique, driving sound. The duo, Marc Gottlieb and Steve "El Reyalto" Chipman have been fixtures in the L.A. dance music community for years. Prior to forming Sugar Ant Invasion in early 2004, Marc was co-founder of the popular Cobalt monthly party, and Steve wrote for several online publications covering the Southern California scene and is the host of the popular online radio show, Tech Coast Tribal, on www.friskyradio.com.
When on the "ones and twos", each crafts a distinctive sound from their love of house music with Marc favoring the dirty, tribal funk of East Coast house whereas Steve prefers the warm, Latin-tinged Balearic house. This range of house music influences allows the duo the luxury of getting the night started or driving some nasty groove until the early morning hours, taking clubbers with them as they invade dancefloors from coast to coast. In just over a year, Sugar Ant Invasion have played at most of the major venues in Los Angeles and have also played in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Miami, as well as keeping things groovy with several poolside sets during the summer.
