MansardaConnection project started in 1996. This happened when two high-school mates decided to buy two couple of Technics and a sound-system to enjoy their favourite music and to learn the djing basics.
Their music tastes were quite different, probably more than now, and this was due to their musical background.
Even if the music tastes were different, surely there was something in common: they both fell in love with music since they were kids and they have gone through different music styles: metal, punk, grunge, italian chansonnier, rap, trip hop, jungle, d&b and so on. Immediately before djing, while still at high school, they started an intensive "clubbing" period. The "falling" Italian old school underground movement and its djs like Ralf, Flavio Vecchi, Ricky Montanari, Marco Bellini and other few people were a great influence, even if probably the most influential person in their djing has been Zeta (Airplane Records Italy), which is also a very good friend. You can still hear that unforgettable club attitude in some of the Mansarda's sound. The net broadcast were a new way of playing and experimenting something new, and they decided to send some demos to the first web-radios like XTCRadio and PlanetSoulNetwork (rip), with positive feedbacks, so they started playing over the net for the internet people. Later they began their regular residency on Puredj.com, spinning live and direct from Italy to all over the world, and joining also the radio crew for the DjExpò in Eindhoven in 2004. Finally they reached FriskyRadio, which sound-style and club-culture is usually the closest to their one. Then they joined the acclaimed FriskySessions and they have been featured on the schedule as "…is feelin’ Frisky" and then as "artist of the week".
During these years of djing MansardaConnection have been playing in several venues as guest dj. They joined clubs like: Beat (PD), Expò (VI), BigClub (PD), Palazzo Papafava (PD), Caffè Pedrocchi (PD), LeClan (PD), LoveGallery Room (PD), InterState Road Bar (PD), Le Bollicine (TN), Number (TN),The Blunt (PD) and Tbar (London, UK).
In some of those events they have been asked to play not only their favourite house but also some deep and chill-out. They also did some sound direction for fashion events.
That’s why they don't like to label the music they play and that’s why Mansarda's djsets are so eclectic and clubby friendly.
