KENJIDO OKIRU

Kenjido Okiru, is a 23 year old, enthusiastic Finland-based DJ. Even though this young lad only started spinning records in early 2003, he has built a reputation for offering the audience more than just good tunes. He creates a special atmosphere and a musical journey, taking the crowd from one emotional state to another. His enthusiasm for music is something that makes him a unique performer.

It all began in the mid 90s, when he realised that electronic music was a part of him. The early inspiration was greated by Prodigy. During those years Okiru obtained various musical obsessions. From the beautiful and melodic vibes of ambient and downtempo to banging peak-time proghouse. Main influences for producing and DJing comes from the ones like Orkidea, Sasha, Yunus Güvenen, Way Out West, Marc Mitchell and rising stars like Özgür Can, Benz & MD, Fretwell and Derek Howell to mention a few. In the fall of 2002 he decided to start collecting records because his father had given him his old Technics turntable and because there wasn't virtually anybody in Finland offering the precise sound he was craving for.

While he has gotten a warm reception in the local scene in the form of positive and encouraging feedback, he keeps improving his skills by practicing and listening to a wide variety of music like IDM, breaks, and downtempo, as well as by building the soundscapes of his own material. His mixtapes have been broadcasted in various places such as the Finnish Radio One Ylex, international U4EA FM, and Proton Radio. He has been playing alonside such names like John "00" Fleming, Özgür Can, Ben Lost, Miika Kuisma, Goldenscan and Mario Piu. This newcomer is also a part of new collective called Subtraxx Agency based in Helsinki, Finland. The crew strengthens every day and members John "00" Fleming, Miika Kuisma, DJ Tab, Super8, Misja Helsloot and others contribute to expand it further. Okiru is also a member of the recently founded Further collective, which is a community of friends, DJs, event photographers and people who enjoy the sounds of progressive house and trance. He also has a residency at Iglu club night. During the time Okiru has performed in major club events taking him to different corners of Finland. Future plans for Okiru include learning the art of producing, evolving as a DJ, touring abroad and mastering his Industrial Management studies in the Tampere University of Technology.

MILLA LEHTO

Having been involved in the club scene for several years, Milla Lehto got bitten by the DJ bug in 2000. In the summer of 2002 she launched her own monthly club night at Ever in Helsinki. Milla has also secured a residency at the legendary Pussy Club and it's 'little sister' Moist, which is the only finnish club that is hosted solely by female resident dj's. She likes to play bottom heavy house music with a healthy dose of breakbeats and electro-esque sounds thrown in for good measure. As well as being a member of the blooming Break That House -collective, Milla spins regularly at the most famous clubs throughout the country. Having been voted for the Best Upcoming DJ of 2003 in the finnish Platinum Club Awards, she is considered to be one of the leading ladies in the Finnish clubland.

MIIKA KUISMA

Residing from Finland, Miika Kuisma, 31, has seen and accomplished a lot but this red-hot producer/dj still has his best years yet to come. Through hard work and time Miika has evolved into an all-round dj with his very own distinct sound and his sensational productions have gained the support of many industry leaders such as Tiesto, Armin, Oakenfold, Marco V, John “00? Flemming and Christopher Lawrence.

Miika’s path began when he heard house music for the first time in the mid-90s and he knew that he had found something that will stay in his life until the very end. His musical career started out with some simple software on his PC and eventually took him into the professional studio environment. The HelsinkiVibe Studio is where most of the finnish trance hits are created. Other artists include Super8, Dallas Superstars, DJ Tab and PeakTwins.

Miika is well known of his wide range of styles he can produce and play. Everything goes from chill-out and progressive house to trance and even psy-trance, depending on the situation at hand. No matter what the style is his recognizable signature sound can be heard in few seconds as magical, dark atmospheric mood that’s floating within the track.

The more the merrier and that’s why Miika loves to collaborate with other people. So far he has collaborated with John “00? Fleming, Luke Chen, Mr.A, Dj Tab, Christian Rusch, Kenjido Okiru, OlliS, Sied Van Riel and Darude.

The year 2005 was perhaps the busiest of his career so far due to the production and release of his debut artist album called “Inwardgaze”. Still, the year 2006 looks like the most interesting year. His regular show on Satellite Radio (XMRADIO/TheSystem) is now getting more and more attention.

MR. A

Mr.A has been tipped as the number one house / prog / tribal DJ in Finland. At 35 years of age, his career spuns now close to 15 years. From the early days of more uplifing and balearic sounds through hard edged techno, the evolution has taught him well. " I love to take elements from different genres, different sounds and incorporate them to my set. Recently I ´ve been extremely lucky to do these 5-6 hour slots, where building the mood for the night and not wearing out the so-called big tracks beforehand is crucial." He was voted Dj of the Year in his hometown Helsinki in 2002, and so far has placed twice in top 4 at the annual Finnish Club Awards.

Productionwise he feels like he´s just begun. "I ´ve been working with different producers for the past 5 years, all of them representing all corners of electronic music. It´s been really educational and I´m very excited of whats to come..trying to dissolve all the information and knowledge of producing to the next piece of music, that´s really interesting. The next big thing is to launch our recordlabel "DanceteriA Music", a project we´ve been working on for quite some time now - with 3 releases on the pipeline before the end of year 2006.

You can find Mr.A playing regularly all over Finland, Scandinavia, Baltic and Europe, making guest appearances in radio and various other media. He has played in every major Event and Club in Finland including Koneisto Festival, Ministry Of Sound Tours, Konemetsä Festival and played alongside the world renown superstars such as Sasha, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Desyn Masiello, Omid 16b, Tom ´Superchumbo´ Stephan, Rob Di Stefano, John Creamer ; Smokin Jo, Kings Of Tomorrow and Dave Clarke.
